This sweet hibiscus caught my imagination and out poured a fun impromptu sketch. Moments like these are pretty abundant for someone like me. I am constantly seeing forms in the patterns of nature and various objects around me. It is delightful to see this in my children, especially my oldest. I love hearing what she sees and the stories that compliment her sightings.
It is absolutely amazing what we can see when we take the time to be fully open to what is around us. Even observing a leaf. First you'll see the obvious color and shape. But then you will notice the particular shades of that color, even undertones and subtle hues. Next you'll be in awe of the thousands of minuscule lines that are branching off from the main stem. Before you know it you are deep in your mind's eye at the shear wonderful of every cell in that plant. Following this, a spiral of deepening fascination with how these patterns show up in other areas, like in the human body or even in outer space! You'll settle into a place of joyful humility as the vastness of how everything is perfectly designed and is all connected!
What a beautiful feeling it is!
Breathe that in!
Soak it into the roots of your very being!
